ATWT and Randomness

Cheaper Than Therapy

One afternoon before pants...daddy's hat....mommy's stylin' baby

This week has been a little hectic! Trying to finish all of the last minute projects before the house is listed next week. We have been cleaning, weeding, and Chris has been putting a lot of finishing touches around the house. Don't get me wrong, we absolutely love our home. Chris built it about three years ago, and it is really our first home. We brought our sweet little boy home here, and I will always love this house. But, we really need to be closer to town for schools, jobs, and just every day life. We will see what happens!

I will also be teaching my first Body Step class next week on Tuesday and Saturday. I have been spending most of nap time down in the basement practicing. I have been practicing the old stuff, and trying to learn some new material too. So, wish me luck!!

We have friends coming into town this weekend to go to the local basketball game with us. I am so excited to hang out and visit with everyone. Bradley is going to Grandma's house, so we will be childless and on the town. Fun Stuff!

Well, off to practice before Grey's Anatomy!

I Heart Dolphins

"I Heart Dolphins" could have been the slogan for our weekend!! We went on a fabulous trip to Baltimore with our dear friends Rick and Cali, and their two girls Larken and Amalie. Bradley and Larken had a blast! All week long we told Bradley he was going to see the fish. I'm not sure he quite understood, but once we were at the Aquarium he got it! Part of our room package were tickets to the dolphin show, which was probably the highlight of the trip. Bradley was mesmorized by the dolphins and all of their tricks.

Here is the fussy Bradley on our way back to the hotel for lunch and naptime. He was wiped out by the morning, and he took a 3 hour nap in the hotel! We got him this stuffed dolphin at the gift shop, and he has done everything with this little guy. Eaten, slept, played, etc. Bradley can tell you about the whole dolphin show, "Dolphins swim down in the water, Dolphin jump up high and touch the ball." It is so amazing what memories they have at 2! It just made me so excited for all of the fun things we get to experience with him through the years.

Quick family photo-opp

They had these beautiful bubble towers that Bradley and Larken were mesmorized by! We visited them a few times at the aquarium that day.

My attempt to take a picture of Larken and Bradley at the bubble towers. Yes, that is my son trying to scoot Larken off of his bubble tower. Oh, little boys can just humble you at times!

We bought tickets to tour two of the boats stationed in the harbor. Bradley loved the boats, and especially loved the civil war ship. He was quite a trooper because it was freezing and the wind was horrible. You would have never known, he was having the time of his life!

Bradley peaking off the side of a coast guard boat.

Bradley and Mommy checking out the canons on the civil war ship.

This is the view of the National Aquarium and the ships docked.

We all went out a dinner on Friday night. The kids did a great job, and I love this picture of Bradley and Larken. He was trying to get her to look at the camera!

Of course you have to stop for ice cream when you are on vacation!

Watching good old George before bed!

Saturday night was a special treat because we got a babysitter to watch the kids. Cali and I happen to have the same sitter, and she was up in northern, va for a visit home. She came up to Balitmore to watch the kids and put them to bed. All of us got to head out to an amazing seafood dinner at the 'Blue Sea Grill.' Dinner was excellent, we told stories, laughed, and drank some wine. What could be better?

I love Chris's smile in this photo, he looks so happy!

Me and Cali, Mommies dressed up and hitting the town!

The last stop of our awesome weekend was to visit an amazing friend, Aimee. Aimee and I taught together in Fairfax County a few years ago. We actually had an open classroom, and did a lot of instruction together. As a teacher I have never met, or probably won't meet again someone who values and teaches almost exactly as I do again. We both just have so many similarities in teaching and loved working together. We wrote a grant for our classrooms and got tons of money and books from Target. I miss her dearly, and I wish that we lived closer. I love you Aimee!!! Aimee and her husband Justin treated us to a fabulous lunch and a tour of their area. Then we hopped in the car and headed home (no traffic too, which is amazing!!).
I am looking forward to many trips to come, and family vacations.
Cali, are you ready to book Sea World?? lol!

Daddy's Top Ten

I caught this picture the other day of Chris and Bradley, and I loved it! It inspired me to do a "Top Ten" list of things Bradley would say about Daddy...

10. I love watching for your truck to come around the corner at the end of the day, and then running to the door to meet you.

9. I love riding in your truck, anytime!!

8. You always want to play with me, even after a long day at work.

7. I love when we curl up on the couch and watch Madagascar.

6. You are so creative and come up with the best things to do around the house, like pulling me around in boxes...I don't know where you come up with this stuff!

5. You take me outside and you know how much I love that!

4. You can make me giggle and laugh over the silliest things, like no one else can.

3. I love going with you to work, riding in your truck, and watching the diggers.

2. I love when you read me stories and put me to bed at night.

1. If you haven't noticed, you are my hero, I watch you constantly, and I want to be just like you when I grow up!!

It's Been A While

I don't really have much of an excuse for my lack of blogging lately!! Bradley was sick with that yucky cold going around last week, and then I caught it. So, we spent much of the week huddled in the house, missing school, friends, and just about everything. I think we are all starting to feel better, and I can't wait to get back to my normal blogging again. I miss reading all of my blogs, and I feel so out of it when I don't know what is going on out there:)

I also have to admit that last week with filled with LOTS of time working on projects around the house. We are putting the house on the market in a few weeks, and we have a lot to do! I spent a majority of my free time last week organizing and cleaning out just about every closet in the house. With two big trips to Goodwill I think I was pretty successful. Some of the things on my to do list this week are; cleaning the ovens (yuck!), shampooing the carpets (I actually enjoy this!), cleaning the windows, and the the STORAGE area in the basement. That is enough to make you run screaming. I will have to do a before and after shot of that! You can barely walk in there right now, so I have a long way to go before our first open house. The rest of the house is looking great though!

Valentine's Day was so great! My Mom came over and watched Bradley, and Chris and I went out to dinner. We were going to go to my favorite restaurant in town, but since I wasn't feeling well we passed. I hate to go and get great food and not be able to taste it! We went to Bone Fish which was perfect. Chris brought me those beautiful flowers, and also some yummy cupcakes. They are each a little piece of art, and taste even better. I have some pictures of Bradley chowing down on one that I want to post later this week.

Here are some of the things I wanted to blog about last week, but didn't get a chance:

Last Sunday we celebrated my Grandma's birthday. Bradley was just getting his cold, so I went solo. It was fun to hang out with cute Sammy and my Grandma. She really enjoyed the party!

I love this shot of my Dad and Sammy! So cute!

This is my favorite picture from the weekend! Aunt Kim and Uncle Adam came down to visit. They had a long weekend and spent the night with us. It was a blast! Bradley started calling Adam, "Elmo" with his red hair. I don't think Adam was liking that too much! But, we all thought it was hilarious. Kim and Bradley were playing on the swing set. Kim kept getting Bradley to say, Yeee Hawww! This little boy is a parrot, and will pretty much repeat anything. I'm not sure if that is a good or a bad thing!

Whatcha Been Up To??

This weekend I got to travel up to Northern, VA for my best friend's 30th Birthday Party! It was so great to visit with friends, have some drinks, and yummy cupcakes! (I didn't get a picture of the cupcakes, but they were delicious and so beautiful!!)

Lori and I lived together in our college sorority house, and have been friends for many years. I can still remember to this day meeting her the first day of sorority rush at Virginia Tech. It is amazing to think about how much has happened since that day!! We still laugh about her passing out during the the last night of rush, which is very intense and everyone is dressed up. She was so worried about getting into the sorority after that, but how could you not love her??

It was definitely a great night, and just what I needed! We laughed, talked, and relaxed. It was so special to see one of my best friends that I have known since high school, Janna. She is now 5 months pregnant and was GLOWING!! It was fun to see her little baby bump starting to show, and hear about all of her plans for this upcoming year. I miss these ladies tremendously.

I am sure Lori and Janna will laugh when they read have their cute faces followed up by a picture of Bradley's potty.

In other EXCITING news!!! Bradley has peed on the potty every night last week and this week before taking a bath. I am not sure that we are 100% ready for potty training at this point, but we are definitely encouraging him. I went out to Target and bought him another potty for the downstairs bathroom, and some Elmo undies. I don't think he has any clue what the underwear are or what they are used for. After reading some more about it, I think we will probably wait until this summer to try full blown potty training. Unless, he keeps this up he might just figure it out before then!

It is hilarious to see him pee on the potty, because it plays a little tune when you go pee and Bradley will do a little dance. So cute!!

Favorite Things Part IV: A Little Bit of Everything

I love sharing my favorite things! I have a little bit of everything on this list, so enjoy:)

As always life just gets so busy, and this week hasn't been any different. I had a doctor's appointment the other morning and missed work. I was in need of a little retail therapy after my appointment, and I ran in to Banana Republic. Here are some of my favorite finds:

They were having a huge sale, and I got this sweater in black! I love it!

I am going to my best friend's thirtieth birthday party this weekend. I am thinking I might wear this shirt. I got it in a beautiful blue. I never wear blue, but I loved the way it looked!

I also got this shirt in this exact color. I love it! So flattering on!

I have read a bunch of really great books lately. Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah was amazing! It is a story of two friends and thirty years of their lives. Such a great read, and I spent a few nap times with the phones turned off, wrapped up in blankets on the couch with this book.

I just started reading "Wicked" by Gregory Maguire. It is really different, and the story of the wizard of oz told by the wicked witch's point of view. Very different from anything I have read, and fun so far! I will let you know if it keeps my attention!

Of course everyone is on the "Twilight" phenomenon. I am no different! I have read the first three books, and I am now taking a break. I have the fourth book, but I feel like I need a break from the whole vampire thing for a while. I still think the first book was the best.

I just got this adorable tractor sweater for Bradley, it will probably fit next winter. Gotta love Gymboree, I feel like they always have cute boys clothes.

So I have a confession, I also bought this set of onesies from Gymborees new baby line. I just feel in love with them when I saw them. They say 'pumpkin,' 'sweet pea,' and other adorable phrases. I will probably end up giving them at a baby shower for one of my sweet pregnant friends. But, secretly I want to hold on to them for the baby I hope we have someday. I guess little things like this help to keep the hope alive.

I have kept busy learning how to digitally scrapbook! I had really wanted to make some pages from our trips to the beach this summer. I bought this adorable beach kit and I threw these few pages together. What do you think? I didn't do anything special, I am still learning a lot about the program. But, it has been fun and so easy to scrapbook digitally!
