While visiting with family this weekend, Chris and I started telling some funny things that Bradley has said lately. I really wanted to get some of them down in writing before I forget...
There are a few beautiful woodpeckers in our yard. Bradley and Chris were watching them fly around a few weeks ago. Later that evening my parents came over to visit. Bradley said, "Pop Pop I saw a BIG RED PECKER!" Well, everyone cracked up laughing. Bradley put his hands on his hips and said, "What? I did, I saw a BIG PECKER Pop Pop." At this point everyone was dying laughing. Chris said, "Don't tell anyone else about that son!"
Bradley has been doing so awesome with his potty training. We have had hardly any accidents, and I am so proud of him! I guess every time he does a big poopy I started saying "Wow Bradley!! Goodness Gracious, that was a big poopy!!!" Now after he goes, he runs out the bathroom and says, "Mommy come look, I did a gracious poopy. Its gracious!!"
Bradley has really started to love ice cream, and especially when he gets to eat it on a cone. The other night we stopped at Kohr Brothers for a cone. We were sitting on the bench and Bradley took a big lick and said, "Mommy, its delicious!" Chris and I thought this was so funny. Where does he learn these words? Of course after our reaction he kept saying it over and over again to make us proud.
Bradley has started to play little rhyming games with us. He doesn't know they are rhyming words yet, but he will play along. His favorite books right now are "Green Eggs and Ham" and "A Hunting We Will Go." When I am reading "Green Eggs and Ham" I will say the first part of the sentence and let him fill in the blank with the rhyming word. Such a smarty!! The other night at dinner we were singing "A Hunting We Will Go" and Bradley could remember all of the rhyming pairs from the book. I couldn't believe it! So, Chris said the last pair which is hunting for a brontosaurus, and asked Bradley what we will do with him. He said, "Put him in a chorus." I was totally floored, that is the last page of the book, but how does he even know what a chorus is??
Guess we better watch out what we say...there is always someone listening!!

After a truly long week last week, with the end of school and preschool...Summer is offically here! We had an awesome and relaxing three day weekend. Chris and I got a babysitter for Saturday night, and had a night out. What did we do first?? Of course, go to the mall to get a new cell phone. I have been using Chris' old phone for the past two years. It is so nice to have a new phone, better coverage, and the ability to text! I have been missing out on this whole texting world. We did go out to eat too, but we are still on the hunt for a new babysitter. That is a whole other blog post!
Monday morning I taught my Step class, and then we headed to the lake for the day. The boys had a blast splashing and playing around the dock. Sammy was jumping off the dock in no time, Bradley was a little more hesitant. We had some sunshine and got to relax. I took a bunch of photos, here are some of my favorites from the holiday...
The whole gang, Tim and Lindsay, Sammy, Chris and I with Bradley
The noodles were a big hit. Daddy taught Bradley how to squirt water with them...
Time for a boat ride! Sammy loves watching all of the other boats go by!
One of the houses on the lake has train tracks behind their house.
Both boys loved watching the trains go around.
Daddy went skiing and Bradley was completely mesmorized! I know in a few years he is going to want to do it, just like Dad!
This was my favorite picture from the weekend! Bradley was watching Chris ski, and totally unaware of his bum hanging out. What a cute picture!

You know the strawberries are sweet, if they come from a farm as pretty as this...
What a beautiful setting! We packed up Bradley on Saturday morning and headed to our local strawberry farm. We have had so much rain, that they didn't have a ton of strawberries that were ripe. You really had to dig in the plants to find them, but it was really fun. Bradley enjoyed it because it was right on his level, which is great! I have been slacking on my photo taking. We had Bradley's end of the year picnic for preschool last week and I forgot to my camera! I missed pictures for a couple of other occasions this spring. I have been a little out of it! Enjoy!
We grabbed a wagon and a basket and headed out to the strawberry patches. I love this little country road to get down to the farm.
"Mommy, look at my strawberries!"
Inspecting his loot!
This is my favorite photo from the trip. I love the way the strawberry plants look next to Bradley.
Off to find some more strawberry treasures.
We have been eating strawberries in our cereal, as a snack and for dessert! Yummy!

My great friend, Cali and I headed out to my last Broadway show this season on Tuesday night. We saw "Moving Out" which was Fantastic! It is a broadway based on all of Billy Joel's music, and the dancing was just spectacular.
Wednesday night after my step class I headed over to another girlfriend Ang's house for a late night girl chat and coffee. Much needed, and it was so nice to catch up with her!
Of course I can't forget about the smile that my sweet baby boy puts on my face. It is almost like he knew I needed a little pick-me-up! He walked around the house last week with these potato head glasses on. He insisted on wearing them, even though his little face was getting squeezed! I love this picture of Bradley watching TV with his 'glasses' on. I don't know how he can even see the screen with those things on!
We went strawberry picking this weekend, I am going to post up the photos this week.
Off to meet with two different movers this morning, and deal with one sick little boy!

Why didn't anyone warn us when we were little that there are so many bumps in the road?? I remember graduating from college thinking that life played out as simple as college life. I worked hard during the week, excelled even, and then the weekends were as fun as I made them. Frat parties, friends, sorority mixers, I mean it doesn't get better than that. I even smile thinking about the endless hours I spent running on the Huckleberry Trail (it was my favorite place to go running in school) with the sun shining down and friends by my side.
It seems like lately we have encountered those annoying bumps in the road. The ones that you know in a few years won't seem to matter, but at the moment they are affecting you! This picture was taken in the beginning of last week, while we were in the mist of packing the kitchen. I was going to do a post on Bradley playing with all of the boxes. It was so adorable...he would fill them up with toys, climb inside and play endlessly. Now, all of the boxes are piled up in the kitchen and our move is on hold. We are waiting for more information from our buyers that I don't really want to go into but it is just frustrating. We are living a limbo land, and I just like to have a plan.
This was all compounded by another round of fertility treatments not working last week. I know that I have blogged about all of this before, but we are still trying to have another child. It has been an emotional and painful process. I actually just read an article in the Parade Magazine in the Washington Post this weekend. One line just hit me so hard, "one day you are popping some clomid and the next you are taking out a second mortgage for IVF." We aren't quite there yet, but we are getting pretty darn close. I just can't imagine what has happened to my body since conceiving Bradley, but obviously a lot has. We have undergone countless rounds of clomid, injections, and two inseminations. It is so sucky...
We are definitely taking a break while we are finalizing all of the house stuff, but I am ready to CATCH A BREAK!!! When is it my turn for things to just work out? Or does it never happen that way? I have to admit I spent a great deal of Mother's Day down in the dumps. Chris was a good sport, and tried to cheer me up. But, I feel like the world is attacking our little family and I just want the happy ending? Isn't that what we all want?

My cutie nephew Sammy turned two last weekend! He LOVES dogs, so the whole party had a dog theme. My sister made a cute paw print cake, and rolls that looked liked dog biscuits. It was very creative! I missed part of the party since I was at Janna's shower in the morning. I am glad I got there for the cake and presents. Sammy wanted Lindsay to open every gift and wasn't interested in the next present. Of course what did the boys like best after the party ended?? The balloons! I didn't get a great deal of photos, but I got a few cute ones of Sammy!
Off to pack some boxes!

Two weekends ago I traveled up north to my childhood neighborhood for a baby shower. Janna is a best friend from high school and college that is having her first boy! It was so fun to be a host and plan the details. I have met so many awesome mommies in our town through Bradley. It is funny that I didn't know them before their children were born or when they were just married. Janna is one of the first of 'my girls' to have a baby. She has called me for advice and with questions. I just wish I was closer to be there after baby D is born! They are having a boy, and his cute bedding has elephants on it. So, there was quite an elephant theme throughout the shower.
These are the invites I made for the shower. I love how they turned out!
The happy couple and all of the high school girls after the shower.
Janna and I, I miss you!!!
All of the shower hosts, quite a great crew:)
Our peanut favors, so cute!
Jill's amazing friend made these cakes for the shower.
The elephants match Janna's bedding perfectly!
This was my favorite gift Janna received. It is a complete needlepoint of Noah's Ark from her husband's side of the family. It has hung in every cousin's room and was stitched by the baby's great grandmother. I have never seen anything like it!
We spent most of this weekend looking at lots and driving around town! We haven't made any final decisions, but I think we have narrowed it down to two different neighborhoods. The only problem is the neighborhood we really LOVE is about twenty minutes from town. It is in a good school system, with a pool, its own gym, and 'town center.' It is everything we were looking for, and we found a lot that we would love to build on there. It is just a little farther away than we had envisioned.
The other choice is a neighborhood that is just in the beginning phases of construction. It isn't going to have all of the things that the other neighborhood has. BUT, it is right in the heart of town. We made a list of the pros and cons last night, and have decided we are just going to give it a week or two and see how we feel about it. There isn't a rush!
We do have to be moved out of this place soon though! I was able to get all of the fine china and the family room packed this weekend. I have started on the kitchen today!! Wish me luck...that is a lot of stuff!!
