I Really Can't Believe It, Either!

I snapped this photo of Bradley yesterday running around outside. It is so funny, because his expression is exactly how I have felt lately! I can't believe in just a few weeks he will be TWO! It really seems as though this past year has just gone by on super speed. Watching him run around the yard yesterday, talking about the leaves falling and the pumpkins I was in awe. Here are just a few things that I love about Bradley:

*When I put you in your crib you say, "Mouth Mommy, Kiss" you grab my face and make me give you a kiss on the forehead. We will sometimes repeat this ritual five or six times before I lay you down

*You recently fell in love with 'Curious George.' I made the mistake of buying a costo sized container of Curious George fruit snacks. For a while every time you went into the pantry you would say, "Oo, oo, ah, ah" and point up to the box. Now you say, "George Monkey, Mommy." Once a day I give in and give you a package, usually when you wake up from your nap. Then you ask, "Watch George Mommy, Peese?" love it!

*When you were getting antibiotics for your ear infection your tummy was a little sick. we were all sitting at dinner one night, and I had just come home from the gym. Daddy said, "Be lucky you were gone, Bradley had a Big Poop!" You turned to me and said, "BIIIIG POOP!!" Chris and I just died in laughter. Now you announce when you have pooped and ask for a "keen diaper, mommy"

*In more poopy news, you announced to Daddy that you needed to poop in the bath last night. You didn't give him much time, and before he knew it out popped three little Bradley logs, right into the tub. Chris called for me, and we thought this was hilarious. You were very upset by the whole thing. You know you are madly in love with your child when you laugh at their poop in the tub, gross! I think you may be close to potty training, but not yet!

*You can say and name almost every animal and make their 'animal noise.' I will have to put some video up of this. You trying to make the elephant noise is a riot!

*You are totally obsessed with tractors, machines, diggers or anything that looks like a large truck. Every time we go to the gym we have to add in an extra 5 or 10 minutes for you to watch the diggers that are working downtown.

*You will pretty much repeat most words that we try and teach you. I love it! You are just learning to do adjectives, and your favorite one is BIG! Everything is BIG! BIG truck, BIG putkin (pumpkin), BIG bite (when eating), BIG dinsar, ROARRRR!

*You love to take your stool around the house and get into things you aren't supposed to be touching. You favorite thing is to turn the lights on and off a half a dozen times while we are all eating dinner. funny boy

In other randomness...this little outfit came in the mail today (thank you Aunt Kim)! Bradley is going to wear it in her wedding in December, and when we go to visit Santa. Isn't it so cute?

Friends New and Old

We moved to our little town almost 2 and 1/2 years ago. It is hard to believe that it has been that long. It takes a while to adjust to a new place and make a new home. I left many high school and college friends when we moved. I am also a 'city' girl as my hubby would say, so living on a six acre lot is definitely a change from our last neighborhood.

As the years pass on you begin meeting new friends and start having new 'favorite' places to eat. This weekend we got the best of both worlds. Friday night we booked up the babysitter and headed out to one of MY favorite restaurants here. It is a local tapas place. The atmosphere is fun, the food is amazing, and the friends were the best part. If you read the blog often, Larken is Bradley's little friend that we get together with a lot. Well, the Mommies thought it was due time for some wine and laughter sans babies. Cali and I had a blast ordering from the menu and discussing the ideas of raising chickens and gardens in our back yard, hmmmm?

Let's just say that Rick and Chris discussed football, and the money we (cali and I) will spend trying to feed our children organic food. What a great night!

Saturday morning we packed up the car and headed over to visit one of my good friends from college. Retta and Austin hosted us for the weekend, and of course their adorable twin boys! Once the children were snuggled up in bed, we headed out to their amazing patio with a fireplace. We had some drinks and laughed and talked about being parents... Thank you Retta and Austin!

Lori, Retta, and I sitting outside by the fire.

The adorable boys, Jackson and Matthew.

Jackson throwing out his new Virginia Tech football I brought for them. He looks like a real football player here!

All the babies playing on the couch, I thought this was so cute!

It rained most of the weekend, and we had planned a trip to the pumpkin patch.
So, instead we dressed up everyone and had a little costume parade inside.

Aren't they so cute?

Halloween Fun

Last year on Halloween everyone got a stomach bug at our house. Poor Bradley was throwing up on and off for over a week, so we didn't get to do much for trick or treating! Good thing he probably doesn't remember! So this year I was determined to have some Halloween fun!

I was cleaning out the cabinets the other day and I found all of these cookie cutouts that my SIL Kim had given me a few Christmases ago. She bought me a few for each holiday! I can't wait for Bradley to get a little older and when he wants to cook with me too! Larken came over and we decorated and ate some of the sugar cookies. The kids had a great time using all of the frosting and sprinkles...

Some of my designs, I must say it is harder to use the frosting than you would think!

Larken nibbling away!

Bradley made a ghost cookie. The whole time he ate it he kept saying, "Bye, bye ghost!"

Bradley's cat creation! Looks like we have an artist on our hands!!

The Mrs. from One Fabulous Mom took pictures of some of her Halloween decorations, and asked us all to do the same. I don't really have many decorations yet for Halloween. I was actually thinking that this year I am going to make a point to go around after the holiday and buy a bunch of things on sale. Nov. 1st I think I will head to Target! But, we do have a few things that we hung up around the house. Some spider garland...

Funny spider:)

Frankenstein and Pumpkin candle holders

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Thousand Word Thursday-All Dressed Up!

Cheaper Than Therapy

I am starting Thousand Words Thursday this week! I have been thinking about quicker ways that we can document what is going on with our family...sometimes a long blogpost is hard to come up with! So each Thursday I am going to just post a picture of something going on in our lives! Thank you Jen from Cheaper Than Therapy for the icon and idea:)

Chris and I dressed up for Kim's engagement party this weekend. It is so fun to get dressed up every once in a while. Better than Mommy attire 24/7!

Have to get a picture with the baby too...

What Could Be More Fun?

I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind words and uplifting comments that were left from my last post. It meant so much to Chris and I to see all of the support we have out there (even though we haven't met all of you!:) I loved what my Dad commented, and it is so true! He read these song lyrics at our wedding anniversary:

Clare & Chris,

Remember back to that blast we had down on the farm at that "Southern Living" setting (your Wedding Reception)? During my long winded speech I quoted Green Day:
Another turning point;
a fork stuck in the road.

Time grabs you by the wrist;
directs you where to go.

So make the best of this test
and don't ask why.

It's not a question
but a lesson learned in time.

It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.

I hope you had the time of your life.

It still applies. Love Dad.

Thank you Dad! Reading that really brought me back to all of the trials and hard times that Chris and I have endured together. We can get through anything, especially with a side kick like Bradley!! Now on to the fun stuff...I promise to throw in some uplifting posts soon!

What could be more fun that riding on a beautiful merry go round as many times as you want??

Maybe sliding down the "haychute" with Daddy over and over and over again, until Daddy's poor bottom gave up. Then Mommy and Uncle Shawn took you down...

Could anything be more fun than bowling with soccer balls in the freezing cold??

Or giggling at your silly cousin in his doggy costume?? Sammy you are tooo CUTE!

What about swinging with Uncle Shawn, in the freezing cold, windy weather??

Maybe milking a wooden cow with Daddy, now that sounds like a good time:)

I think feeding the goats with Uncle Shawn might of been your favorite part!

Or chasing Uncle Shawn through the mini corn maze!

What about riding on your very own tire made horsey thingy?

Bumping around with Mom on the cow train, that was a blast! Ouch!

Then Mommy made Daddy do it!

The best part of all was picking your very own pumpkin, "Mommy I like THIS one!"

"Will you help me carry it to the car?"
